Once you’ve started your local SEO effort, the next stage is more aligned with the rest of SEO – creating content for your audience. In this case, we’re looking to create content of interest to a local reader. If you provide valuable information on your website for visitors, design a good user experience, and implement all the known algorithm factors, your website has a good chance to move up on the search results list for your company’s targeted keywords. This type of SEO is sometimes called white hat SEO, but you can just think of it as the proven and ethical methods. As an owner or stakeholder in a website, you must take the time to discover content, evaluate that content, and implement a link to it on a webpage. From its earliest days, Google's core search algorithm offered the most relevant and most organic search results quickly and accurately on a simple site with an iconic logo that has now become synonymous with the search giant's business. Searching amidst the world's vast data, Google cleverly cataloged and categorized pages using its PageRank formula, which assessed the quantity and power of links to any given webpage. But all too often, when we want to improve our site SEO, we fall prey to “quick-fixes”, just as we do when we’re enticed by fad diets.
Every website needs a a proper call-to-action
Ensure the number of new site visitors arriving via organic search is growing, month to month and year over year. Because Google likes sites that link out to good quality content, publishing your own curated content can be a very smart move. Writing blog content is one of the best ways to generate traffic and inbound links to your site. Marketers who blog consistently see up to 97% more organic links generated for their site. Guest blogging greatly contributes to that number if you’ve made that part of your content marketing strategy. Text without headings is terrible to read. Headings and subheadings are the most important anchor points a reader has in the text. People tend to read those more carefully and use headings to determine what a text is about. Links from a diverse range of websites is good, many links from a single domain to your site (especially if it’s one of the very sites linking to you) can be seen as spammy.
AJAX and Single Page Applications (SPAs)
Blog comments are a great way to promote content, diversify anchor text and build out a natural link profile. Optimizing for search engines and creating keyword-targeted content helps a site rank for key search terms, which typically leads to direct traffic and referring links as more and more people find, use, and enjoy what you’ve produced. If a site, or specific page, has a lot of backlinks pointing to it, Google then sees this page or site as credible. This is only true, though, if those backlinks are coming from quality, reputable sources, and it’s even better when those sites are relevant to your site. SEO in Hull is here. The Internet is made up of trillions of pages that are all connected to one another with links. These links are how search engines “crawl” the web, using virtual
spiders (or bots). As these spiders follow the links on pages to other pages, they store information as they go. And they don’t miss a beat! From search terms to images and videos, these bots survey, collect and take note of any information they can get their spindly little hands on. Despite countless claims over the years that have proclaimed the death of link building it is still very much alive and kicking. Not only is it still alive but it remains one of the most important ranking factors and is in the top two factors in Google’s ranking algorithm. Over the years there have been many dubious link building practices such as link farming, buying links, comment linking on blogs and many other low effort practices.
Links are like glue
According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Ask your customers for reviews, mark them up with structured data and present them on a particular page on your site. This might do wonders." Unlike some aspects of the mysterious Quality Score “secret sauce,” we know that Google takes landing page relevance into account when calculating Quality Score SEO isn’t magic or voodoo. I know some SEO consultants will make you believe they possess magical powers and only they can optimize your website, but don’t listen to them.
SEO takes some time. There’s no legitimate way around that. But SEO is also not a one-and-done activity. You can’t SEO a website and call it good. If you want to stay competitive, then SEO shouldn’t stop just because you’ve started seeing results. Keyword relevancy and placement is far more important than frequency. Your keyword or key phrase should appear in the first 100 words of your page, if not the first sentence.
Advanced link building SEO principles
Google estimates that around 56% of mobile searches have local intent, and 50% of consumers who conduct local search on their phone visit a store on the same day. With local SEO you can showcase your business information directly to consumers who are actively looking for businesses like yours, and achieve an incredible reach throughout your local area. Google needs to generate, maintain and increase its revenue. It can only be done when the searchers uses Google as a Search Engine. The searchers will use Google till the time the Search Engine is providing accurate results to the query entered by the searcher. You can use some practical tools that’ll make it much easier to find keywords. You will still have to make a short list yourself (no corners to cut there), but once you have ten to twenty proper keywords, you can use several tools to find similar keywords. Using these tools will significantly speed up the process of coming up with long lists of keywords. Businesses that stick to the old SEO trick of “stuff a post with keywords and use metadata” will get left behind. SEO isn’t about tricking Google or working with spiders – it’s about creating content that wants to get read by your customers. If you find that your backlinks are mainly coming from a small pool of domains, look at a way to diversify your backlink strategy to get links from a greater variety of domains.
Content repurposing does what content alone fails to do
For experienced marketing teams, the content creation process has become a high-level assembly line. Speaking from experience, I have often seen product manufacturers describe a product from their point of view. Standard engagement behaviours on SERP results, such as click-throughs and time on page, can be an indicator of freshness and relevance. If your content is hard to scan, meaning it contains long sentences and paragraphs, it's likely that your visitors won’t stick around. Chances are, they’ll go to your competitors to find content that’s easier to consume. Once you are done with cleaning up all the toxic backlinks pointing to your site, you need to file a reconsideration request with Google. This has to be polite and detailed, stating that you admit the mistakes you have committed, explaining the steps that you took to correct the same and promising to use nothing, but best practices for link building and SEO.
